We are honoured to invite you to attend the conference Europe comm - community media in Europe, which will be held on the 24th of June, 2010 in Brussels. European Programme for vocational training ‘MediaTrainer’ which is directed to the staff of the civil society sector, community media centers, civic and labor unions will be presented during the conference.

Among the topics discussed at the conference will be the challenges facing community media in Europe as well as their impact on the developement of the civil society. Moreover, discussions will cover issues on media education and certification, and recognition of competencies gained in the media training courses in different European countries.

Each conference participant will be able to get aquainted with the innovative training program in the sphere of ICT and new media - MediaTrainer. This program allows upgrading the skills of the third sector workers in the fields of video journalism, online journalism, cross-media competences and allows to gain coaching skills. This program is specifically targeted at the rapidly growing community media sector in Europe.

Participation in the conference is free. The conference will be held on the 24th of June, 2010 in Crown Plaza Hotel (Rue Gineste 3, B-1210 Brussels).

Each conference participant will receive training materials, including textbook ‘MediaTrainer’.

Information for visitors from abroad:

We provide accommodation, meals and cover up to 300.00 Euro of travel expenses for employees of NGOs, trade unions and community media centers in Europe, who wish to participate in the conference. Number of the participants is limited to 30 places.

Anyone interested should complete an application form and send it to the organizers by the 25th of May, 2010.

Those who want to participate in the conference, but will not apply for reimbursement of travel expenses may submit a registration form by the 15th of June, 2010.
