‘Spotlight on Europe’ in Istanbul
Once again the training course “Film academy: Spotlight on Europe” will take place in Istanbul during 7th - 15th May 2010. This seminar will present possibilities of adopting new media for political education and intercultural learning. 24 young people from Turkey, United Kingdom, Poland, Germany and Romania will acquire media and journalistic skills.They will learn to produce media reports on the issues of active citizenship, political education, social participation, intercultural dialogue in Europe and will be able to share their knowledge and newly gained skills during the local trainings in their own organizations.

During this training course the following effects will be achieved: going into the European political standpoint - Turke and researching present socio-political attitude of Istanbul’s dwellers and representatives of government in connection with the future EU membership of Turkey.
Polish trainees prepared for Istanbul
Being able to use digital film cameras and cross media tools, we will have a great opportunity to come closer to everyday life of Istanbul region where common traces of the Orient and the Occident are influencing the whole country. We would like to focus the attention of the training’s prticipants on the beautiful diversity of our individual countries as well as on the political aspects of active EU citizenship. That’s why we will involve youth from four EU countries and young citizens from Istanbul in advanced and active training activities, discussions, thematic presentations, intercultural workshops and media production.
The main objectives of the project are: media creativity in combination with social, cultural and political education as well as intercultural learning.
All participants will go through a basic qualification and preparation by blended e-learning which will start 6 weeks before the course.
Accommodation and food during the course as well as 70% of the travel expenses will be covered.
