Cross-media training course in Tbilisi

Cross-media trainingIn February 2010 we are starting a recruitment process to the training seminar Cross-media youth reporters for democracy in Tbilisi, Georgia. The aim of this training is to improve skills and enable 18 multipliers to initiate public discussions about civil society and democracy issues, document them with the help of creative media tools and actively exchange information on the European level with the help of web-TV. Training course will take place in Tbilisi, from 14th till 21st of March.  

The objective of the proposed seminar is training, improving competences and skills of the responsible youth workers who want to use media tools in their daily work and contribute to cooperation, mutual understanding between EU and neighboring countries as well as promoting democratic values, freedom of expression, tolerance and active citizenship in East Europe and Caucasus.

The participants will explore characteristics of active citizenship, cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and learn how these priorities can be creatively addressed by means of using modern digital media.

Participants from member organizations from Armenia, Georgia, Germany, Poland, Romania and Ukraine only.

The seminar will stabilize and enlarge our network association. It will support the European cooperation of NGO´s, youth institutions and citizens’ centers. European partner institutions together with organization from East Europe and Caucasus will work on establishing cross-border networks of youth media work. Building up a network of youth media multipliers will allow to initiate and maintain the cross-border internet-TV programs like “ActTV” - the initiative promoting opportunities that Youth in Action Program offers to young people in Europe.

Involvement of the EU neighbours from East Europe and Caucasus is looked as essential element for highlighting coherence and impact of European youth policy, securing cooperation with neighbouring countries, and promoting intercultural dialogue and tolerance in Europe.

Trainings will be conducted by the qualified media specialists from the Youth4Media Network that were previously trained at international trainings supported by the Youth in Action programme. They will use developed and approved modules which insure a unified standard of qualification. Theoretical presentations will be intertwined with interactive group work, workshops and hands on experience in creating media products.
